There isn’t actually any cinnamon in these ‘cinnamon’ rolls. There is however plenty of Nutella.
- 2 1/2 cups flour, plus more for dusting
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 Tbsp sugar
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3 Tbsp melted butter
- 1 cup Nutella
- 1 cup chopped toasted hazelnuts
- 2 Tbsp butter, melted
- 2 Tbsp coarse sugar
Sift the dry ingredients into a large bowl. In a small bowl, combine all the dry ingredients and mix into the dry ingredients to form a soft dough.
Grease and line an 8-inch square pan. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
On a floured surface, pat or roll the dough into a 15 x 10 inch rectangle. Spread the nutella over the dough in an even layer and sprinkle nuts over top. Starting on the long edge, roll the dough into a log and brush the top and sides with melted butter. Cut into 9 rolls and arrange in the pan. Brush the tops with any remaining butter and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
Bake for 25-28 minutes or until golden brown.
